“Thank you so much for helping my son with his new shoes, backpack and school supplies, he’s so very happy!”
Marcos loves school and would like to be a doctor or veteran when he grows up because he loves to help others.
Marco was born in a small indigenous village in the state of Veracruz. There, his mother and her family made hand crafted bags out of palm tree leaves. The income she made making these bags was not enough to sustain herself and her son.
When Marcos was three years old his father died in a tragic accident. Soon after his father died, his mother decideed to move to Nuevo León looking for job opportunities. There, she was able to find a job and remarried. Marcos family makes less than $100 a week with both parents working seven days a week and mostly twelve hour days.
Marco and his mother are extremely appreciative of the backpack, school supplies and clothes that I Am Esperanza Foundation has given him.
Our foundation has also sent resources for teachers at Marcos’ school in order to help mire children like Marcos.
This is Eleven year old Emerson. He would like to be a doctor when he grows up, his sister Melany is fourteen years old. She dreams of becoming a school teacher.
Their youngest sister is five years old and does not attend school yet. Their older brother, age 17, works cutting coconuts to help the family and would like to attend college and become a teacher. He is currently seeking a college scholarship.
Their parents are street vendors. They sell soft drinks in a cooler that someone gifted them to keep the drinks cold. They make less than $50 a week to support their family.
With I Am Esperanza Foundation’s help, they had backpacks, classroom supplies, and some extra clothes for the new school year!

A boy’s story touched our hearts. He asked his teacher to put a piece of tape on his torn shoe to keep it together. He said his mother couldn’t afford new shoes for him.
His teacher immediately taped up his shoe and informed us of his situation. As soon as we could, we sent him new shoes, clothes, a backpack, and school supplies. His smile is priceless!
This foundation has 20 international members who are committed to this cause. We asses areas of need and we deliver the school supplies directly to the children. These 20 members are directly involved throughout the process.

We accept donations by generous individuals that help us move more supplies to kids.
The backpacks we deliver to children give them the confidence they need to continue their education.
The classroom supplies we deliver help children learn by giving them the tools they need.
A child can’t learn without other basic needs taken care of. On a case-by-case basis we address other needs young children have.
With your donation, you can empower children to pursue a lifelong education by giving them the tools they need to succeed.
